Lisa Manzey AdelmannLisa Manzey Adelmann is serving on the Audit Committee and former Board member and generous donor, with a special connection to Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota (GESMN). “My neighbor knew I was a finance consultant and GESMN needed an interim CFO. I was hesitant as I had a corporate background; but after spending a Friday afternoon with President & CEO Michael Wirth-Davis, touring the campus and learning more, I was completely sold on taking the interim position! I have unique perspective as I was an internal employee for about nine months.”

What impressed Lisa most during that time was the staff. “The dedication of GESMN employees never ceased to amaze me. I saw the challenges they faced every day and their drive to see the participants succeed.”

The shared values of hard work and supporting people are important to Lisa, who learned the power of work from her family growing up on a farm in southern Minnesota.

“I wish others knew the power of Goodwill-Easter Seals Minnesota in opening doors to a brighter future. I see the positive impact not just on the participant themselves but on entire families, who see their mom, dad, brother or sister changing their life through the power of work. They can provide for their families, teach the importance of education and renew a sense of pride in themselves.”

Lisa believes the organization’s work is more important than ever in providing skills training for the jobs Minnesota will need as we emerge from the pandemic. “Right now, technology is a huge factor for our participants to succeed, not only access to computers and other devices, but internet access and the skills to use technology. I am thrilled our Power of Work Campaign is addressing these needs.”

Lisa chose to support the campaign through an IRA designation, a flexible and easy way to be generous and meet her own long term financial goals.
